Delicious Chicken Wings
Ingredients
4 tbsp balsamic vinegar
4 tbsp clear honey
45grms soft light brown sugar
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp garlic purée
16 chicken wings
Salt & Black Pepper to season
2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Serves 4
Method
1. Whisk the balsamic vinegar, honey, sugar, ketchup and garlic together.
2. Place the chicken wings and the marinade in the bag.
3. Remove as much air as possible from the bag and seal the bag. Place the bag in a bowl and put it in the fridge for a minimum of 2hrs (preferably overnight), turning the bag halfway through.
4. When ready to cook, pre-heat the oven to 200C.
5. Remove the chicken from the marinade, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
6. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and place in the oven for 30mins, (turning after 15mins).
7. Pour the marinade from the bag into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
8. Boil the marinade (a vigorous, rolling boil) for a minimum of 4mins until it becomes thick and syrupy – coating the back of a spoon.
9. Once the marinade is ready, remove it from the heat to cool slightly.
10. When the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and brush over the marinade. N.B. Do not use the marinade without boiling it first.
11. Sprinkle over the toasted sesame seeds if using.
12. Let the chicken to cool slightly before serving as the marinade will still be quite hot.
